“Be the change you want to see in the world!”

oHHo meets Rob Jungmann, founder of hemp clothing company, Jungmaven

Can you sum up Jungmaven’s mission?
We strive to promote a healthier and more sustainable future for our planet with the boundless potential of hemp.

What led you to launching it?
Seeing the old growth forests in the Pacific Northwest being clear-cut, I knew there had to be a better, more sustainable way. I started building products with hemp to make other non-hemp products obsolete.

Where do you get design inspiration?
The design ideas just come to me, as they’re typically something I want, so I make it. They usually occur during the most monotonous tasks, like washing dishes or walking the dog!

Biggest challenge you’ve faced?
Having enough time.

What are you proudest of?
Helping get industrial hemp legalized in the USA.

A face to watch in your community?
The Columbia Riverkeeper

What do you want people to know about hemp?
The word ‘canvas’ is derived from the latin word "cannabis".

Who are you designing for?
We design for everyone, no limitations.

What advice would you give your much-younger self?
Get involved and try everything.

How do you stay balanced on the daily?
Run, bike, swim, yoga. Also, hanging with the kids and our dog, Bruce Springsteen.
